Fred Yee (Managing Director, Capital One) has been elected to University Settlement’s Board of Directors, the nation’s first settlement house announced today.
Fred is the Head of East Region Underwriting for Capital One’s Commercial Real Estate business. A graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Fred previously served as Treasurer of the Board of the Hunter College High School Alumnae/i Association. Fred spent his early years in Manhattan’s Chinatown and still maintains a strong connection to University Settlement’s neighborhoods; he now lives in Forest Hills, Queens with his family.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Fred to our Board,” said Melissa E. Aase, CEO of University Settlement. “His deep roots in our communities and his passionate interests in education, housing, and building opportunity for immigrant communities will serve him well as a leader of our organization.”
“I am honored to join the Board of one of New York’s most dynamic, creative, and effective community-building organizations,” said Yee. “I look forward to helping University Settlement continue forging relationships and responding to our neighbors’ priorities in Brooklyn and on the Lower East Side.”
