Co-hosted by University Settlement, VNS Health, and the Chinese American Medical Society
With heart disease and stroke ranking as the second and third leading causes of death for Asian Americans, it’s vital that members of the community gain awareness of the risks they face and how they can protect themselves through prevention practices and healthcare.
Recognizing the urgent need to educate and empower our community in the fight against heart disease and stroke, University Settlement’s Houston Street Center, VNS Health Chinatown Neighborhood Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NNORC), and the Chinese American Medical Society invite members of the community to the 4th Healthy Heart and Stroke-Free Expo:
Date: Friday, June 23, 2023
Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Location: Houston Street Center – 273 Bowery, New York NY 10002
Due to limited space capacity, only 150 free tickets will be available for this highly anticipated event. Attendees are encouraged to secure their tickets in advance. Ticket distribution will commence on June 15th at 10 AM and will take place at Houston Street Center.
Please note that each person may receive up to two tickets, which will be distributed in-person only on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The Expo will bring together representatives from healthcare providers, non-profit organizations, and social service agencies, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and community support. To keep attendees energized and engaged, a simple lunch and snacks will be provided, along with exciting raffle activities.
Attendees will be able to access a wealth of resources from more than ten vendors offering medical information, community resources, and health assessments.
The Expo will also feature educational workshops providing valuable insights into heart health conducted by renowned physician Dr. Warren Chin, MD from the Chinese American Medical Society. University Settlement’s Senior HeART Program fitness trainer will lead a healthy heart exercise workshop for the attendees, while the VNS Health Chinatown NNORC RN will provide blood pressure screenings.
