All people grow and thrive with the help of safe, nurturing, and predictable relationships. For young children, relationships with parents and primary caregivers form the basis for future learning, development, and social-emotional well-being. Butterflies, our early childhood mental health program, engages children under five along with their parents and caregivers as they build and maintain healthy relationships, learn to respond with love and kindness, and acquire skills and tools needed to effectively support future growth and development.

Butterflies clinicians are part of the team at each of our early childhood centers, providing training to staff and social-emotional support to all members of the educational community.

Butterflies services include individual, dyadic and group play therapy for children and consultations and workshops for parents, educators and community members on a variety of topics related to the social-emotional development of children under 5.

Program services are free, and available in Spanish, Chinese, and English.
