For nearly 140 years, our historic headquarters at 184 Eldridge Street has evolved to respond to our neighbors’ priorities; today it is home to our spacious and well-maintained Early Childhood Center.
Our mission? Partner with families in our communities to ensure children have a strong foundation for life-long learning.
Our programs include Early Head Start for 2-year-olds, family childcare for 3-year-olds, and Universal Pre-Kindergarten for 4-year-olds.
Our staff is highly trained, collaborative, and resourceful. We keep student-teacher ratios low, ensuring children receive individualized attention.
At each of our early childhood centers, a Butterflies clinician on staff supports social-emotional development with children, caregivers, and teachers.
Our center is open year-round, and we offer extended day program hours to meet the needs of working families. With the understanding that the parents are a child’s primary educator, our work with families is one of collaboration, open communication, and partnership. At playtime, children enjoy access to the gym on our roof, and we’re also a short walk from great playgrounds.
Fees are determined by income eligibility. Early Head Start and Head Start services are free for income-eligible families, and our private tuition fees for our other programs are the most competitive in the neighborhood.
We are proud that our staff reflects our diverse community, and we communicate with children and families in English, Spanish, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
