PERFORMANCE PROJECT: “Still in Motion” is a multi-disciplinarian work that gives space for community both in the creative process and in the representation. This work will be centered in photography of community members that will be brought to life through theater and dance interpretations of the still images. The goal is to give narrative and voice to the photographed life. A picture is worth not just the isolated moment, but also what that isolated moment means in context to the world within and around it. “Still in Motion” is an opportunity for the stories of community members to be witnessed and expanded upon beyond the frame.
“Community is a big part of why I create. The definition of community is that it’s a group of individuals who have shared values, shared goals and also share a perspective and the most original and broadest community we have is our humanity.”
