Yitian Yan
Yitian Yan’s art practice explores the dynamics in land and identity, individual and collective. Through the medium of performance, her work picks up the subtle oscillations between materiality and ephemerality, attempting to sustain the delicate nature of sensibilities in accelerating urbanization. Meanwhile, her installation work explores the extensive spatial structures of the performative activations, giving physical forms to how stability and fluidity, tension and gravity would be perceived in the built environment. Yan has exhibited and performed at Power Station of Art, Shanghai, Photo LA, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Arts Center at Governors Island.
